“What has you so distracted, darling?”
She startled and cursed herself for reacting to his deep timbre. Chills ran down her spine at the thought of him at her back. Steeling her body, she turned to face him and sucked in a breath at the sight of his gorgeous face up close, with its perfect angles and wake-and-run stubble.
Mentally shaking herself, she put on her best I-don’t-give-a-damn look. “I’m not distracted, Luke, just preparing to hand you your ass on a platter."
