Although previously I've posted excerpts from my short story soon-to-be released by TWRP, Into the Fire, this week, I'm posting from my current WIP, Who's the Cake Boss. Hope you like.
Set up: Lindsey used to work with Evan as an apprentice baker, but he let her go after a month because she had a tendency to make a mess of things. Truth--Evan thought she was too good for him, and Lindsey's attraction to Evan made her nervous. Now they are competing against each other on a televised cake competition, but Lindsey says something that jars Evan's memory about the time he overheard her telling a fellow employee she'd never had an orgasm. Without further ado:
Every time he worked with her from that point on, images of teaching her--but most definitely not about cakes--kept distracting him. Instead, he wanted to show her just how good sex could be, with the right person--with him.
But he hadn't made a move except to push her away--far away. He'd fired her. He hadn't wanted to be the one to corrupt her. She deserved better.
For those new to Six Sentence Sunday, it's simple:
1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published
2) pick six sentences
3) post 'em on Sunday
